I put 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in half of the glasses of water that I drink. It’s really easy and 1 tsp doesn’t taste too bitter in a whole glass of water.

Weight loss diet CAN be YUMMY – this is something I’ve learned following the diet solution plan. Weight loss diet that Isabel De Los Rios offers is actually very filling and absolutely delicious! Following the Diet Solution weight loss diet, I never ever feel hungry and I don’t even want to cheat on the cheat days – it’s that good!

Having been on this weight loss diet for a couple of weeks now, I, for the first time probably in my life, don’t crave any bad fats, which I couldn’t live without previously!

Tonight my husband and I were grilling on our beautiful balcony. He had sausages and in-the-coal roasted potatoes and salad and I had grilled trout and salad. Previously, saying or hearing the word “diet”, I would get very unpleasant shivers down my spine. I would constantly think of crash diet, hunger, headaches, having to restrict myself in a very unnatural way. Today, thinking weight loss diet, I get a smile on my face and am happily creating new recipes.

Role of antioxidants in everyday diet

Eating food containing plenty of antioxidants helps neutralize damaging free radicals in our bodies. Free radicals are hazardous molecules that can destroy cells in our bodies. This damage causes premature aging and leads to the onset of diseases such as heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer’s. Milk Thistle – the complex antioxidant properties of milk thistle benefit the liver and help the body eliminate toxins. In Europe it is used to treat cirrhosis of the liver and liver disease caused by alcohol. (Buy milk thistle drops in a health store and take daily for a few weeks)

Chamomile – this herb can remedy an upset stomach and aid sleep. But it can also improve the skin if taken topically. (chamomile tea is the most soothing tea of them all, just drink a cup a day)

Thyme – it improves the immune system, promotes perspiration and eases sore throats and coughs. It has mild antiseptic properties. (great added to stews and meat marinade)

Turmeric  – may help fight infections and some cancers, reduce inflammation, and treat digestive problems (add it to curry, boiled rice, soups, even add a spoon in your burger mince)

Sage – this herb calms the nerves, improves digestion and eases lung congestion and coughs (great accompaniment to any meat dishes. Drink sage tea with milk  and raw honey for a sore throat)

Rosemary – this improves circulation, stimulates the liver into eliminating toxins from the body, eases joint and headache pain and relieves cold symptoms. (amazing on baked potatoes!)

Mint – it eases stomach and digestive problems, relaxes the mind and can ease headaches. (drink mint tea – a cup a day)

I love my tea. I grew up with tea being an essential part of all 3 daily meals. It was black tea and dried fruit tea during the winter period (from the fruit we grew in our garden and then dried at home) and it was fresh herbs tea from spring to autumn. My parents had their own piece of land where they grew their vegetables; where we had apple, pear, and cherry trees, raspberry/blackcurrant/blackberry bushes. My grandma would brew raspberry and blackcurrant leaves tea, which to this day I consider the tastiest tea in the world! When I was 17, my mom introduced green tea to the family. Despite its unusual to our taste buds feeling, it went very well with all of us. I became a green tea addict. Even though I still really loved all the herbal teas, it was mainly the green tea for me throughout the whole year now.

I also came to like a less traditional to my origin, but full of taste and character – chai tea! I call it my magical delicious keep healthy weight loss tea! I first tried a chai tea latte during one Christmas period in a Starbucks shop. I immediately fell in love with it. The way all the flavours are blended creating this unforgettable warm feeling… Oh hold on… it’s also loaded with sugar! Yikes! Well, I still enjoyed it at Starbucks, but then I went home and created my own, an anti-fattening, delicious keep healthy weight loss tea! My Chai Tea!

Ingredients:
2.5 cups of water
1.5 cups of milk (I use goat’s milk as I am allergic to cow’s milk
)1 cinnamon stick
3 clovesseeds of 1 cardamom pod
2 inches of ginger – grated
1 tsp of good quality loose green tea (you can instead use black if you prefer)

Directions:

Put all ingredients (apart from milk) to a small pot on medium heat. Bring just to boil, reduce heat just a little and simmer for 5 mins. Reduce heat to minimum and add milk. Warm the tea through with milk for 3 – 4 minutes more and there you have it – your very own, full of health and weight loss capacities chai tea!
